Transwarp Technology(Shanghai ) Co., Ltd is currently one of the very few high technology companies in China that have truely mastered the core technology of enterprise . It specializes in developing database platforms in the Big Data Era. With De-IOE, meaning independence from IBM, Oracle and EMC, becoming a global trend, Apache Hadoop is now widely recognized as the Big Data solution to replace traditional databases. The company's product, Transwarp Data Hub (TDH), stands at par with those from peers in the Silicon Valley. Superior architecture and functionalities of the TDH make it stand at the leading position in the field.
The developing team of Transwarp is the earliest team in China to work on enterprise Apache Hadoop. The team has been dedicating itself in innovation and improvement of Big Data platform softwares since its start. The team's Big Data journey started around the same time as its peers in the Silicon Valley: in 2011, the team released the first enterprise Apache Hadoop in China. Soon afterwards, the team leaders, Yuanhao Sun, previous CTO of the Data Center Software Division of Intel Asia-Pacific Research and Development Center, and David (Hui) She, previous Director of Sales of Intel in Asia-Pacific, left Intel to start Transwarp with registration captial of 50 million yuan. Transwarp is now headquartered in Shanghai and has branches in Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing and Jinan.
Transwarp has around a hundred (and counting) developing engineers. 85% of its empolyees are developing engineers holding master's degrees or Phds. Developing team with such size and high qualifications is rare among teams which specialize in Hadoop development in China.
Transwarp Data Hub (TDH) is a distributed in-memory analysis engine and real-time online large-scale computation platform based on Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark. Compared to the open source Hadoop, it has better performance by 10-100 times. It can process data sets with sizes between gigabytes and petabytes. Transwarp provdies both platform and service for storage, analysis and data mining.
Yuanhao Sun graduated from Nanjing University majoring in Computer Science and joined Intel in 2003. Before starting Transwarp, he worked as the CTO of the Data Center Software Division of Intel Asia-Pacific Research and Development Center and was in charge of the development and commercialization of Intel's enterprise Hadoop.
Yuanhao left Intel in 2013 to start Transwarp to specialize in development of high-efficiency computation engine and data analysis algorithms on Apache Hadoop. Yuanhao is the creater of Intel's enterprise Hadoop. He lead his team and made multiple improvements and enhancements to adapt to different needs in various fields. Yuanhao and his team have completed hundreds of successful Big Data cases in China and made important contribution to Big Data solutions deployment in China.
Prior to Transwarp, Mr. Fan served as the Director of Software Department at the Intel Asia-Pacific Data Center. Since he joined Intel in 1999, Mr. Fan has led the formation of the Intel SMB alliance and the alliance between Intel and Internet companies such as Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent.
He was in charge of the solution in telecommunications of Intel China. He worked on promoting the early Intel Hadoop distribution. He left Intel in 2014 to co-found Transwarp and led the earliest Hadoop deployments in China. Before Intel, Mr. Fan worked for DEC and Compaq in research and development. He graduated from Fuduan University in 1993 with a degree in computer science.
David (Hui) She graduated from Fudan University in 1991 and received his EMBA degree from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in 2003. Coming from a technical background, he worked as a database and web engineer for 5 years before joining HP China as the Senior Technical Advisor in the Department of Web Engineering.
David joined Intel in September, 1996. During his time at Intel, he served successively as Sales Manager of Web Products, Marketing Account Manager, Channel Sales Manager of East China, Channel Sales Manager of China, Asia-Pacific Director of Channel Sales, OEM and Chief Director of Channel Sales of Intel China. During his 12 years of work in channel marketing and sales, David oversaw and took part in construction of the national channel architecture for Intel web products and boxed products.
